Back story:
Katherine is the first born to Kenny and Katjaa, taking after her father a bit more then her mother in some ways but she has a heart of gold just like her mom. At a young age Kenny taught her how to fish and enjoy it…well she doesn't enjoy it enough to make it her job but she enjoys it. When she was seven years old her little brother Kenny Jr. was born and she swore she'd be protective of him. Over the years they spent their time living in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and often going to Memphis, Tennessee to visit their aunt. Their lives where average, nothing to exciting. At the age of 9 she got into Roller Skating and Skateboarding a year later.

She went to the nearby high school at the age of 14 and joined numerous clubs and sports. She was part of the track team, basketball team, cheerleading team, photography club, science club, and the school newspaper. She did it to keep her parents proud/happy with her and got extra credit that would show up on her college applications. At the age of 17 she had been a straight A student through grades 1-12 and was proud of herself for being such a good student. When she first started school she became friends with a guy named Brian who her father didn't like all that much, saying he was a bad influence on Katherine but Katjaa liked him even if her daughter did do some stupid shit when around Brian but he took care of her and stood up for her when people where bothering her.

How did she encounter the outbreak?:
She was at Fort Lauderdale Beach with Brian, Frankie, and Rochelle hanging out in the lifeguard tower, since Rochelle was the only lifeguard on duty at eight in the morning. Katherine's parents and brother where in Tennessee visiting her mother's sister but they let Katherine stay home by herself. When hanging out in the lifeguard tower they heard screaming and then banging on the door of the lifeguard tower. Brian answered it to see a girl blood with a chunk out of her arm. Before anyone could help her she was grabbed by a man who had blood over his mouth and he bite her. All Brian could do was shut the door and lock them inside to keep them safe. Now Katherine really wished she went to Tennessee with her parents.
